When the headline says that Words with Friends is happening in real life, you might be inclined to think that I am talking about Scrabble. However, this is not the case. While Scrabble is certainly the physical, tangible version of Words with Friends, the latter is absolutely an app.
Because it is an app, it takes place completely on a digital spectrum, resulting in the ability for people to decide to play the game with random opponents who could be found anywhere in the world.
The two people pictured above are an example of two people who were randomly paired via the app and, according to the young man’s Twitter account, ended up playing over three hundred games of Words with Friends together.
He went on to say that the older woman ended up becoming one of his closest friends who he loved to talk to and when he was visiting Florida, he decided that he would try to meet her. As you probably guessed from the above photograph, the older woman and the younger man did finally meet.
It is so heartwarming to see a friendship like this united in real life! You just never know what sort of connection you will make with another person.
